Increasing PPI FOR LARGE PRINTS

I need to increase the PPIof some files so they are big enough for red bubble purchases. They are vector based with watercolor layers. I'm assuming I have to just use vector, somehow change the PPI, then recolor. Is that the way or is there a quicker or easier way? Will this process retain the quality? Thanks in advance
