Opening Illustrator vectors in Fresco

Is it possible to transfer a vector drawing form Illustrator to Fresco without having to turn it into a psd file? I want to be able to continue editting the drawings in Fresco. No success so far. Very frustrating if not possible.

Fresco was originally created around a connection to Photoshop, it still doesn't have the ability to bring in an ai.

You might be able to bring in a pdf but it will still have limitations of being a single layer.
