[Performance] Fresco on iPad - Crash While Drawing

the iPad I am using is 8th generation, and Fresco is up to date. It has often been crashing (in the middle of me drawing or eyedropping a colour, usually) undoing a ton of progress and corrupting the original file. So far I've been getting around this by duplicating the file after it's corrupted... but progress is still gone, and the original cannot be deleted or altered. It says it isn't a valid PSD file.

It is also now deciding to sometimes tell me it can't save when I hit the back button to go to the menu- leaving me to either restart the app and lose progress, or just keep trying and hope it saves. This has been happening increasingly often!

This is extremely frustrating. Fresco has been my go-to for a few years now- and it is only now acting up. I've had some issues with crashing while opening before, but that stopped a little while ago (and wouldn't happen often).

anyone know what's happening?

Hello @Crow279553037wns,

Sorry to hear about this experience. I hope the suggestions shared by Sjaani helped resolve the problem. If not, kindly share the crash report so that we can investigate this further:

  • Open iPad Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements > Analytics Data. You will see file names like “JetSam-2023-01-03-083327.ips” (2023-01-03 is the date in the log & 083327 is the time). Ensure you share the recent log file after the crash by looking at the timestamp.
  • Upload the file to (https://assets.adobe.com) and share a link to the file here or via DM

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Anubhav

Have you tried an uninstall reinstall?

Did you edit the file in Photoshop? Some of the things you can do in PS create problems when opening back up in Fresco.

I would suggest if the app allows that you open the Help area and send an email through to the developers.

Best if you can send through the app as it will give device details.

If you can't open the app and get to the App Settings > Help>  Report a Bug then send an email directly to (frescohelp at adobe dot com)
