Does this option exist? Like how you use the quick eyedropper with the alt on photoshop. That has always been integral to my workflow and I can't seem to find it

I wanted to clarify that tap-and-hold is with your finger, and not the Apple Pencil. Once the eye dropper magnifier appears, you can drag it around with your finger to get exactly what you need.

In my opinion the eyedroper is not as good as I hoped for.
I have a Surface Pro 4, and it always takes around a second (or two) for the eyedropper to popup, when using the "tap-and-hold" gesture.

I am used to sample colors very fast and very often, so I find this rather frustrating, as it forces me to use a keyboard.
My favorite option would be to use the button on the surface pen (right click), like the Leonardo app, or an additional touch ring.

Thank you for listening,
M.

I agree, something about the current implementation of eyedropper makes its usability very problematic, if your technique involves not using swatches / recent colors a lot but rather sampling from your canvas frequently (which I believe is a common technique that in Photoshop works well) - you can't really work seamlessly with Fresco.

It's almost end of 2024 and as I can see this is still not a feature 😞

Why when I use an Apple pen to draw I can't use it also for color pick ?

I colorpick from canvas frequently so in Photoshop I just press Alt key and touch my pen to tablet surface to get color but here i must use my finger to do this simple thing. It's super slow down my workflow because quite often I hold my tablet in one hand and draw with other hand so picking color from canvas is quite iritating process 😕😕

And btw. why I can't customise what that touch circle do ?

HI Olie.

I'm not sure how the eyedropper works in Photoshop (I do everything the long way there) but in Fresco if you tap-and-hold on any color on the canvas the color selector tool will launch.

Let me know if that's not the "quick" function you were hoping for.

I know this thread is old but, it would be great if someday we could use the double tap on the side of the Apple Pencil to bring up that same color picker! Would be a lot faster, like the alt in Photoshop. Thanks!
