Question

Unable to import Adobe Fresco brushes via “Discover New Brushes” on Surface Pro 11 (ARM)

Hey Guys!!
I’m using a Microsoft Surface Pro 11 (ARM – Snapdragon X Plus) and I’m unable to import any official Adobe Fresco brush sets through the “+ Add Brushes” → “Discover New Brushes” feature.

When I select a brush set, Fresco shows “Adding…”, but the brushes never appear in my Creative Cloud Library. The process never completes.

I have already tried the usual troubleshooting steps, including:

  • deleting the “LIBS” folder under AppData

  • restarting Creative Cloud

  • reinstalling Fresco

  • signing out/in of Creative Cloud

  • resetting sync

None of these steps fixed the issue.

Interestingly, importing third‑party brushes (.abr) works perfectly. Only the Creative‑Cloud‑based official brush sets fail to import. It seems like Fresco cannot write anything into my Creative Cloud Libraries on this ARM‑based Windows device.

Is this a known issue with Adobe Fresco or Creative Cloud on ARM Windows? Is there any workaround or fix available? If not, can you recommend reliable sources for high‑quality third‑party brush sets as an alternative?

Thank you for any help.

    Hello @MattiKo

I’m sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind downloading the brush packs manually from here (https://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/photoshop-brushes.html#!&from_ims=true&old_hash=&api=authorize) and then importing them in Fresco to see if it helps?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Dear Anubhav! Thank you so much for your answer! Unfortunately, downloading the Photoshop brush also triggers an error message! Regrettably, it is in German! It says: "Error importing brushes. Adobe Fresco could not import any usable brushes from the selected file."

It also keeps crashing! Such a shame, because Fresco is almost a real competitor to Apple's Procreate
