Unable to send/ share file from Fresco to Desktop Illustrator

I have been having this issue for a while, and see others have had the same issue. I am unable to share and open from Fresco to Desktop version of Illustrator. This was such a convenient workflow option once upon a time for vector work.

I have tried updating every program, logging in and out of all CC programs, rebooting computer etc. Still no luck. My OS is the most recent version, and I am running a Mac Mini m1 chip

If you have any advice, please let know as it's beyond frustrating

Yep super frustrating. Especially seeing Adobe staff repeat each other.

Never got a result. I've relied on sending it to Illustrator iPad, and then exporting it out as an Ai file and airdropping it to my Mac.

a little extra steps to add to my workflow, but it's still helpful to work with Fresco vectors in artworks.

Note: this is the only time I use illustrator on iPad because it SUCKS as an app 😂

For sure--they were clearly not reading up on the responses that had already been given. Well, that's a really helpful tip to use the Ai ipad app and then airdrop! Thank you so much. I'll do the same until *fingers crossed* the issue gets fixed in an update hopefully.

Hi @rebekahlynn and @joelebs88,

I understand the frustration you're experiencing with the inability to send/share files from Fresco to Desktop Illustrator. Our product team has conducted an investigation and determined that the Apple Notification System (ANS) is intermittently causing this issue.

To mitigate this problem, please ensure that both your devices are running the latest operating system version and are connected to a stable network.

I apologize for any frustration this has caused. Please note that no changes have been made to this functionality from our end.

Thank you for your understanding, and feel free to reach out if you have any further questions or concerns.

Best,

Anshul Saini

Hi there, I'm curious if you ever found a solution to this issue. I see they basically just keep telling you to do all the things you've already done which is not helpful. I'm having the same issue and it's super frustrating that I can't work with my vector art via the export options that are available without the share direct to Ai function.

Did you try sending from Fresco to the iPad version of Illustrator?

Large files can take a very long time to come across to the Desktop, but they're quite quick within the iPad.

Testing this might help to narrow down the issue.

Seems to work with iPad to Win10.

Hi @joelebs88,

Thanks for reaching out. Several users have reported this, and the product team is actively investigating this issue.

Maybe I am asking the obvious, but would you mind confirming if you are signed into both apps with the same Adobe ID and are on the same wifi or different? Also, please ensure your device's OS & apps are updated to the latest version.

Please check if signing in & out from Illustrator helps or not.

If nothing helps, would you mind uninstalling the CC Desktop app and installing it again to see if that helps?

If this doesn't help either, try the steps suggested in the following HelpX articles on your devices.

Let me know how it goes.

I will be looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Anshul Saini

Hey Anshul,

Thanks for getting back to me about this issue, and I am sure it is
confusing for the Fresco team as the answer doesn't seem straightforward.

Yes, I can confirm I am signed in to the same accounts on both apps. I have
signed out of both apps, and resigned in multiple times.

I have signed in and out of Illustrator as well.

Uninstalling is not the issue, as I have only just done this recently, and
still no fix.

The links you gave me are about connectivity issues, which doesn't apply to
me. I have no issues connecting to Adobe servers, or any issues with
connectivity at all with CC. Fresco connecting to Illustrator is the only
issue, which can only mean there is an issue with that particular feature.

I have had this feature working previously, so it's something that has
either happened with recent OS upgraded versions, or updates with Fresco.

I am running the latest version of Mac OS, the latest version of iOS, and
the latest updates of all Adobe apps.

Thanks,

Joel

Joel, have you tried to restart your desktop machine to see if this clear up the issue?
