Question

Using additional watercolour brushes in Fresco

I downloaded a set of free watercolour brushes from Adobe but they don't seem to behave like the other watercolour brushes. They're just square shapes and do not blot the way the other watercolour brushes do. I'd also like to watch a video tutorial or get some help on how to use the watercolour brushes. I really like how the paint spreads like real water paint on wet paper. Will be very grateful for some help on how to use watercolour brushes well in Fresco.

Hi @Boon5115,

Thanks for reaching out. The watercolor brushes you downloaded may be standard brushes, which don’t have the same blending and "blotting" behavior as Fresco’s live watercolor brushes. To access realistic watercolor brushes in Fresco:

1. Tap the Live Brushes tool in the toolbar.

2. Select Watercolor Brushes to use blending, spreading, and wet-on-wet effects.

3. Adjust the brush settings like Water Flow and Paint Load for desired effects.

Here are two helpful tutorials to get you started:

Feel free to explore these and let us know if you need further assistance. Happy painting!

Best,

Yes, that is very useful. Thank you also for the links, which are helpful as well. I also found Kyle T. Webster's videos, which are very good. Many thanks.
