What I'd Like in Fresco (make it more pro level tool)
Hello, Im not sure if Adobe is ran by software engineers being located so close to all the tech giants, or if working artist in the industry are regularly giving input designing the software like fresco because it doesnt quit feel pro level (although very close).
Just a few things I'd love to see.
1.) Layers -
The visibility icon on the layers should be like the photoshop app on ipad, where the visibility icon is on every layer rather than a single icon that control layers visibility. Make working with 100+ layers more easier to navigate with tweeks like this.
2.) Brush creator-
The brushes currently are decent but I dont see a way to edit them in any meaningful way or create your own.
3.) Focus on Painting over Animation-
If you follow art apps history you know Procreate came out with Dreams and it went bad, They havent had an update on their main software procreate in maybe half a decade because they were so focus on animation. Adobe should not make the same mistake with fresco. Make the core software's function the best it can be at drawing and painting first and not just add animation if theres no new ideas coming out.
4.) Innovate
Instead of playing catchup to procreate, why not invite something new? Like no one is doing 3D drawing seriously, that could be helpful and push the industry forward. Add copy and paste that can move in 3D perspective to help people design things windows when drawing buildings (infinite painter does this). Things like this we dont get from adobe but you'd find in smaller passionate art development teams. Adobe can be inovators too. Theres a ton of new ideas.
5.) Desktop
Whats great about fresco is that its desktop and ipad but using it on desktop is not that good because of the layers are bad to use for big projects, and the serious lack of keyboard hotkey/customization.
Feels like the art software industry is at a standstill, especially adobe when it comes to art creation. Honestly I havent seen fresco create anything significant in so long even after all these years of first coming out . Theres so much that hasnt been taped into on what can evolve art software to make it better for artist, instead of making tools that make art for you like AI. As someone who works and use art software to make a living in games/film/ and big tech industry I wish we actual artist had the power to push more creative ideas to software creators like adobe to develop their tools to make creating art/making a living creating art easier. See what tools we need and make them, that is the wish.
