Why can't i place ai files into fresco from my photos album anymore?

Up until today I was able to place Adobe Illustrator files into my Mac "Photos" album and place them in Fresco by choosing Place > Photos (using the "place" tool towards the bottom of the toolbar), All of a sudden it's no longer working. I searched for an answer online and found that Ai files can't be placed into Fresco; however this was not the case up until today. What happened???

    I'm running Adobe Fresco 5.4.1 -- I was able to place the drawing from my Photos folder onto a layer in Fresco; however in I seemed to have lost that capability. Both images are Adobe Illustrator files; is there a reason why only one of them could be brought into Fresco?

    Thanks for sharing the details. It is possible that the file you're unable to import has been corrupted. Would you mind confirming the OS version, the device make/model, and a screen recording of your entire workflow, saving the Illustrator file to Photos and trying to import it into Fresco and a public link to a sample file you're having trouble with after uploading it to Dropbox/Google Drive/etc. so we can investigate this further?
