2023 illustrator crashing and lagging

Hello,

I need some help. Illustrator is constantly crashing and when it does work its super laggy and can barely move multiple stuff selected. There are no modern tutorials for a MacBook pro. Yes, I've checked mac and the software is updated. I really need this fix as I am a uni student.

thanks,

Lukhi

Hi,

I noticed I was having a similar problem, even though I'm on a PC and have plenty of ram, etc. But we do have the Wacom tablet in common. Lately, I've been having way more crashes in Illustrator than I should and today was particularly bad. I did a quick internet search and got this thread. Well the bottom reply about Wacom driver's causing the issue made me go and check my Wacom drivers and sure enough there's a new one. I installed it and so far so good. No illustrator crashes since the update.

Oh dang, it hasn't helped me to install the latest driver. Darn Wacom, it's the source of many headaches.

Well, off to do more research!

Hi @ldecook,

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're facing with Illustrator and that updating the Wacom driver didn't resolve your issueDealing with hardware and driver-related problems can indeed be frustrating.

Would you mind confirming the Ai, Wacom driver & OS version you are currently using? Also, please share more details about the issue you are facing so we can better understand and assist you accordingly.

If you have any further questions or if there's anything else I can help with, please feel free to let me know.
You might also consider reaching out to Wacom's support for assistance with their drivers.

Best regards,

Anshul Saini

Hi @Lukhi07,

I understand how frustrating it can be to deal with software crashes, especially when it impacts your work. I wanted to let you all know that we have been actively working with the Wacom team to resolve the issue with Wacom tablets crashing Illustrator.

In the meantime, I would recommend reverting to the older, stable Wacom driver versions, such as 6.3.46-2 or 6.4.0-11, as they have been reported to work well with Illustrator.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Best,

Anshul Saini
