A bug

I upgraded to the newest version of Illustrator, 29.0, and now it is unable to open files off my desktop. The files appear to open, AI asks to relink to graphics, and then nothing shows up. I'm running 15.0.1 on a 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro.

So you have the latest system installed?

Your computer is not the latest one and probably not the most powerful one.

Are the linked images on your harddrive?

I am sorry to hear about your experience. Our team tried fixing this in the latest Illustrator (beta) release. Would you mind installing Illustrator (beta) to see if it helps?

The problem still occurs after a restart.

I still have the issue after downgrading. My workaround is to open the files and ignore the link graphics and then relink after the file is opened.
