A few bullet points increases file size by 2 MB

Why do bullet points take so much memory?
For example, I created my resume in Illustrator. It's a single page full of text.

Without bullets, the filesize is 500 KB.

Adding 16 bullet points, the filesize nearly quintuples to 2300 KB.

Why?

Mine went up from 154 to 164 after adding bullets. Maybe someone else can replicate your problem.
