A tailor-made file that opens as the start-up file in Illustrator 30 on Sequoia

In the old days, I'd create a file customized to my preferred document setup, color, layout, specifications, etc. and have it come up on Command+N and Command+Option+N. It wasn't an AIT, just a standard file placed deep in Illustrator's many files and folders. Maybe Presets, maybe Profiles, or somesuch.

Would someone be so kind as to tell me where I'd put such a custom-made file in Illustrator 30?

Apologies, Ton, for my befuddlement. I don't know what or where the Profile drop down menu is. And assuming I'll find it, I name my tailored file in that drop down? Is there a sensisble name for the file?

As an example, I gave my document the name Mixed Inks, I can select it from the New Document dialog menu in the legacy file new interface.

It is also available in the default one, but as Carlos described, you have to dig for it.

That would be a New Document Profile, best to save such a file on Mac in the User Library > Application Support > Adobe > Adobe Illustrator version > New Document Profiles

Once created they are the easiest to find when in the Preferences General the "Use legacy "File New" interface" option is checked.

Ton, I've placed my new file in precisely the folder you instructed and set Legacy "File New" interface in AI's General preferences. But Illustrator still opens a new file with it's generic settings, not my bespoke file. Is there special name or other secret to get Illustrator to open my file each time?
