Abobe Illustrator CC crashes when opening file.

I can't seem to open a particular ai file that I have been working on. My Adobe Illustrator CC (2018 and 2019) program seems to be working fine and is able to open other ai and pdf files. However, I am unable to get this one particular ai file to open properly. It will always crash the program (Ai) whenever it was about to open. Tried it on my friend's laptop and it opens up fine on Ai. The pdf version of the same artwork also has the same issue when opening - however, it opens up fine in Acrobat as a pdf file.

This issue only happened recently and the file opened up fine previously on both the 2018 and 2019 release of Ai CC.

I am using the Windows 10 operating system.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Can you get your friend to open this file and create a duplicate file by doing a Save As?
