Question

Actions Recording and "Enter Isolation Mode"

Hello All, thanks for considering my question 🙂

Is it possible to include "Enter Isolation Mode" in an Action I'm creating?

Record Action and Insert Menu Item don't allow me to include this feature in my ClusterAction, and I don't see any obvious workaround to get it.

Here's my scenario...

I have a path selected. Playing ClusterAction would:

  1. Bring to Front
  2. **Layer Panel > Enter Isolation Mode**
  3. Select All
  4. Transform Each
    • (options)
    • Copy: Yes
    • Random: Yes
    • (yada, yada, yada)
  5. Select All
  6. Transform Each
  • (same as before, creating copies w/ random transformations)

7. **Exit Isolation Mode**

Perhaps I'm overlooking an obvious workaround?  Or can this only be done via Scripting?

Thanks! and cheers,

I have no problem including Enter/Exit Isolation Mode as steps in an action. I'm using the latest version of Illustrator.

Which version of Illustrator are you using?

"Not all tasks in actions can be recorded directly. For example, you can’t record commands in the Effects and View menus, commands that display or hide panels, and use of the Selection, Pen, Paintbrush, Pencil, Gradient, Mesh, Eyedropper, Live Paint Bucket, and Scissors tools."

This is a reference from Ai help  Automation with actions

I am not sure but you can try use command instead dobleclikong for recording.
