Question

Adobe CC Libraries will not let me add new items.

I know this is the Illustrator community but I have this issue in all of my Adobe apps. I use Illustrator the most so I'm posting here first. Here is my issue, I have two Mac computers both running the latest version of the Ventura operating system (13.6.7 at the time of this post), one of them is at the office and the other one is at home for work I do when away from the office.

I have a teams account with Adobe provided by my employer. I log into CC using the same ID on both machines. On my computer at the office, I can add new items to any of my Adobe Libraries in any of the apps. However, on my home computer I can't add anything new? I can delete items from my libraries and drag and drop from these libraries into my documents but I am unable to drag into the library, add to library using the menus or use the plus signs at the bottom of the pallets as these are greyed out on my home Mac.

Things I have already tried to fix this myself are: I have cleaned the CC app using the cleaner tool and re-installed it. I have removed the CC library from my system Library folder and it has been re-created by the CC app. I don't know what else I can do to fix this issue, any help will be greatly apprecieated.

Thanks in advance. 🙂

I'm still looking for a solution to this issue! I've tried all of the 'solutions' that I can find on the web, including in these forums.

Nothing I do seems to fix it. FYI I restart my mac everyday, it's never left on overnight. I'm wondering if there is there some port or something in my firewall that needs to be open for the Library panel to be able to be updated. I tried switching off the Firewall but it still does not allow me to add anything new.

Hello @grahamo21834853,

I'm sorry to hear the suggestions did not help. Would you mind signing out of Creative Cloud and then signing in using your business profile to check if it helps? If you're not prompted for this, try the following steps:

  1. Sign in to your Adobe Account with your email and password.

  2. Go to Account and security > Sign-in and security.

  3. Turn off the Select My Profile automatically option.

If that does not work, kindly contact your admin to submit a ticket through the Admin Console: https://adobe.ly/3AWQc5r

If you're the admin, you can get help here: https://adobe.ly/3AOkiYW

Feel free to reach out if you have more questions or need assistance. We'd be happy to help.

Hello @grahamo21834853,

Sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind trying the following steps and checking if they help:

  • Close all Adobe applications
  • Remove the Creative Cloud Desktop application, CCLibrary, and CoreSync using the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool (https://adobe.ly/3xpKZBn)
  • Reinstall the Creative Cloud Desktop application (https://adobe.ly/4bhfmrw)
  • Relaunch Illustrator

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav

Hi Anubhav, thanks for your reply.

However, if you read my original post you will see that I have already done what you suggested. In fact, I did that following your advice from previous community post by someone else! Anyway, the upshot of this, is that it did not work. If you have any other things to try I would apprecieate it. Thanks in advance.
