Adobe Illusrtator CC 17 not responding when saving

Of late Illustrator freezes whenever I am saving in .ai format. If I save in .eps, the file saves normally. Please, what is the cause of this?

Hi ndubuisin,

Thanks for answering the questions above. Hope the issue is solved by steps suggested by Monika, if not, please please share some more details like:

Operation System (Exact Version of Windows or MAC)

Is it happening with a particular file or multiple files of the same folder?

If it is happening with only one file would you mind sharing your file?

If it's happening with multiple files of the same folder, is it a shared folder?

Also if it is happening with any file or even with new files please try resetting preferences for Illustrator.( How to set preferences in Illustrator )

Please update the discussion if the issue is resolved or if you have any further query.

Which version and which system is this?

Do you use any third party plugins?

Have you updated anything recently?

Exactly where do you save your artwork?

Is there text in your artwork?

Do you use font management?

Is a printer connected, turned on and set up as default printer?

Please connect a printer.

If you don't have one, use a PDF printer.
