Very frustrated. Ai is so so slow. I am a new customer with a new 2019 macbook pro 16in loaded with latest update Catalina using  CC for the very first week. Working on a basic document writing a simpe paragraph and Ai is so so  slow. I am so frustrated because I will have to go back to my 2007 17in  macbook with my older Ai cs4 software to finish my project. Please help?

I have alread uninstalled, re installed, shut down opened computer and still turtle slow.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. Would you mind sharing some more information like:
1. Version of OS and Illustrator.
2. Is it happening with a specific file or with all the files?
3. Do you save files locally or on a network?
4. Have you tried resetting preferences? (If not, please try doing that. You may follow the steps provided on https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/setting-preferences.html#setting_illustrator_preferences)

**Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings and Illustrator will launch with default settings. You can also take a backup of the folders in case you want to. Location is mentioned in the article.

5. If resetting preferences does not help, please turn off GPU Performance by going into Preferences > Performance and let us know how it goes.

All this information will help us understand the issue and work accordingly.

Looking forward to your response.

Regards,
Ashutosh

I have this same problem. Turning off the GRAPHICS PROCESSOR should not be the solution. It PROCESSES GRAPHIC. Adobe Illustrator is a GRAPHICS SOFTWARE. I could not be more disappointed with Adobe and Apple these days.

Hello.

I had the same issue. I think the 2022 version of illustrator is not yet fully optimized on Mac computers and hopefully the next update will fix this issue, so what I did was just uninstall the 2022 or latest version and install the 2021 version instead and it runs smoothly.  Hope this helps. Thanks!
