Adobe Illustrator 2025 Type Tool not functioning properly after Sequoia update

Hello!

I just updated my OS to Sequoia (15.3.2) and my Type Tool is wonky. I can create a text box, but I cannot click and make headline type. Please help! I feel like I'm having a Mandela Effect moment: "The Type Tool never did that. It only ever did boxes for text."

PS - Plenty of memory, everything up to date, but I've had some bluetooth issues with my MacStudio lately. Probably unrelated, but I don't have time to finish resolving it. I'm using a wired mouse for now.

Though it pains me to say, this was user error, not an Illustrator glitch. Thanks for your help!

Hello @juliag1020,

That does sound strange. Would you mind running Illustrator under a different administrator account (macOS) and Safe Mode (macOS) and checking if it helps?
Also, try using a different mouse and share your observations.

Can you shed some light on what your user error was? Because I'm having a simialr issue and I'm on Sequioa and Mac Studio as well.
