We are pleased to announce the latest update of Adobe Illustrator.

Note- 24.1.1 for Windows and 24.1 for macOS

Highlights:

Real-time Drawing & Editing

Now, you can see a live preview of your artwork while drawing, editing, and transforming the objects. Enable the Real-Time Drawing and editing feature to see all your object movements in real-time.

To do this,

[Windows] Choose Edit > Preferences > Performance > Real-Time Drawing and Editing.
[macOS] Choose Illustrator > Preferences > Performance > Real-Time Drawing and Editing.

Note – The real-time experience is available only when the GPU preview mode is enabled.

Cut and Copy Artboards across documents using menu commands and keyboard shortcuts

Making copies of Artboard is made simple with the new Copy and move Artboards feature. You can copy and paste Artboards within the same or even a different document.

You can use the usual keyboard shortcuts and commands for both Windows and macOS while performing the copy and paste actions.

This release is very buggy. Crashes almost daily and this is a clean install of Creative Cloud and Illustrator on a brand new Mac Book Pro. I've lost my saved workspace several times...

Adobe please understand that we pay you a lot of money for this software. If you're going to charge this kind of money for a bunch of patchwork design tools that most people don't want or need, then the software NEEDS TO WORK.

Crashes, lost work, resetting workspaces, coming here to give feedback ALL COSTS TIME and TIME IS MONEY. You call this professional software, it is expensive -- don't release it unless it works.

Affinity Designer may not have as many bloated features, but I can BUY IT for less than ONE MONTH of Creative Cloud. Yes, that's right PURCHASE IT, not rent it so you can force garbage beta software with features nobody wants.

You need to get your act together...

One step closer to dropping this mess called creative cloud and moving to Affinity. BTW... have you met Quark?

I totally agree!

I just installed the new version and now it crashes constantly, first I just could open it again with no problems but now it won't do anything and I was almost done with this job zo it sucks that I can't finish it!!! the person I'm doing this work for is waiting and I can use the money! Now I can't do anything!!!! I thought this was just a problem with me but clearly that is not the case!! The older version works just fine but I can't work on my files on the older version.

Real time drawing, I suppose is a good thing. I enabled it and found that it just made my work a little clunkier and slower. Some things hesitate before moving, and other things are probably too heavy to show the preview as it moves. So I disabled it within minutes. It's weird because when I use other programs that have this feature, I don't find any problem with it but I think it just doesn't work very well in Illustrator unfortunately.

bummer its really slow as garbage and has all kinds of addons you have to turn off, and it still sucks.

Well now the Free Transform tool is completely broken : options (perspective, constrain) disappeared, totally does not what it should. Anybody else ? IGNORE: option palette had reset itself UNDER the toolbar....

I still have crashes... more than before..MacOS Catalina on 16 inch Macbook and illustrator is not the best match...

I have used some time, (since last time encouraged to update) an older version of illu and older version of ps. I thought I let everybody resolve things and try later. It crashed, destryed documents and didnt read its own previous files.

The work when savings has been real slow. Sometimes it doesnt save, and dont tell me. Sometimes I save and I uncheck all layers and that normally works. Yesterday I uninstalled all versions illu and reinstalled the last. It ruined one of my vip documents to one board only now and it prostests when opening documents. I am on windows 10, should I revert to older version illu or is it working out for people? BRgds Ingela

It's been a while since the release, but this update is not appearing on my system. I hit the "check for update" feature a couple of times: I can only see v24.0.3. I'm in Belgium, but my system is set to English. thanks!
