Adobe Illustrator CC 2017 has stopped working

I have a freshly imaged, bare-bones Windows 7 Professional system where I installed Adobe Creative Cloud and a few of the applications; Photoshop CC 2017, Illustrator CC 2017, and InDesign CC 2017. Photoshop and InDesign work as expected, but not Illustrator.

For some strange reason, Adobe Illustrator crashes whenever I run the shortcut, run the executable directly, or double-click on an AI file. The splash screen will appear and run through it's processes, then the Illustrator window will open to a white background, then it will crash saying "Adobe Illustrator CC 2017 has stopped working"

The really strange thing is that Illustrator will load and work perfectly fine if using the "Open" button from within the Adobe Creative Cloud application. However, it fails 100% of the time if I try to run the Illustrator.exe directly, or run a shortcut to the executable, or if I double-click an Illustrator file.

I have fully uninstalled everything, deleted all Adobe folders, re-installed everything, and get the exact same result.

The problem signature for the crash is as follows...

Application Name: Illustrator.exe

Hi c2r,

Please try to right-click the shortcut or run the executable directly and click "Run as administrator" check if it works or not?

If it works, close application Right click executable file and click Properties> Compatibility> Check Run this program as an administrator

And then try to launch the application directly.

If It still does not work please check how it works in safe mode https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/17419/windows-7-advanced-startup-options-safe-mode  and  Hidden Admin account https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/555910/how-to-enable-the-built-in-administrator-account-in-windows-vista .

Please do share your findings or if the issue is resolved.

Regards

Srishti
