Adobe illustrator CC stopped responding now locks up computer. Win 10

I recently purchased Adobe illustrator in with the full suite of all the programs for my classes. the problem that I'm having is that since it locked up on me once I can no longer access the damn program. I have tried everything from clearing the temp files, uninstalling the programs, deleting the folders related to the program and restarting the computer at each stage. I've tried everything so far and can't seem to find what needs to be deleted to allow this program to work properly again. I can't continue to have these issues or I can't take the classes on these programs if they won't work. I even tried backdating to earlier versions of the illustrator program and that worked for a few days until the program stopped responding and as soon as that happened I couldn't access that version either.

I'm running a brand new Surface Book, Windows 10, with the performance base (965M) with 512 SSD.

I need this program to stop locking up. I can still use photoshop without issue but no matter what I do, shortly after illustrator starts up, before I can even access a menu, it locks up my computer entirely.
