Adobe Illustrator Color Picker

Hey guys,
In the latest version I noticed that you can change the color with "Color Picker" and you can visualize live the color change in the selected shape. But today it simply stopped working. I don't know how to activate it again, if you can really activate it. Please I need help with this. Thank you very much for your help.
