Question

Adobe Illustrator displays a GPU memory outage error even though there is still memory available

I'm working with an I76820HQ processor running Windows 11 TPM 2.0. It has 1 GB of graphics memory, which they say is enough to use Illustrator and is compatible with it according to the performance tab. However, since I updated to the latest version (30.2), every time I create a blank document, I get a "not enough GPU memory" error, even though I'm not using anything other than Illustrator. This didn't happen in the previous version (30.1) and is only happening to me with Illustrator.

Also, in the performance tab everything appears enabled and activated, but in edit mode it forces me to use the CPU and doesn't let me switch to GPU; a display error also pops up.

PLEASE FIX THE PROBLEM

Hello @Henry1200

I’m sorry to hear about your experience. Could you kindly share the following information so we can check this with the team:
1. AiSniffer file:
- Close all Adobe applications.
- Navigate to the Illustrator Preferences folder and copy the AiSniffer file to the desktop from this location:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 30 Settings\en_US\x64\

2. For the System Report, kindly follow these steps:
- Please press Windows Key + the letter "R" on your keyboard to bring up the Run command window
- Type "msinfo32" in the Open field and left-click OK
- While viewing the Microsoft System Information summary, go to File, then choose Save (Please do not use Export)
- Save your MSINFO32 report as "msinfo32.nfo" on your desktop to easily locate it later. It can take up to a minute to generate a report.

Kindly upload the files, along with a sample AI file and a brief screen recording of your workflow and the error, to Google Drive/Dropbox/etc., and share a public link here or via DM so we can investigate this further.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello, update to 32.1.1 and I think it was solved, I also updated the drivers of my graphics card. In beta, something similar happened, so I am sending some of the specifications of the equipment. I think it happens with the drivers that Microsoft automatically installs, Intel 30.0.XX, the 31.1.xx ones do work.

Hi @Henry1200,

Thanks for confirming, and I’m glad to hear the issue seems to be resolved after updating the drivers and the application.

Just to clarify one thing, when you mentioned updating to 32.1.1, did you mean Illustrator version 30.2.1? I want to make sure we are referring to the correct version, as there isn’t a 32.1.1 version currently available for Illustrator.

Also, you mentioned seeing something similar in the Beta version earlier. Could you please confirm if it was the same GPU memory error, or was it related to a Beta expiration message instead?

Looking forward to your update so we can better understand.

Abhishek
