@Harshika Verma I unchecked save in background option and restarted the PC removed all the existing cache files, suprisingly it worked.

Since this problem happened after an upgrade to After Effects it could be the result of keeping After Effects old preference files. Often using preference files that were compatible with the old code of a previous version will cause performance issues.
