Question

Adobe Illustrator get Not Responding message every time I use Live Paint

Every time I use Live Paint, I get a greyed out screen and Not Responding.  It will clear up after a minute or two, but if I click on something else, even just Edit tab, it does it again.  The live paint tool works, but it slows down my whole computer, even when I try to move on to another part of a design. This happens with every new document.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!  I am still fairly new to Illustrator, so maybe I am doing something wrong.

I have the same issue. There are quite a few paths. It appears to be using 5,718 MB in the task manager. If the number of paths is the issue, is there a way to reduce the amount of paths without losing the image fidelity?

How many?

Is it possible to make several live paint groups?

How many paths are there in your live paint group?
