Question

Adobe Illustrator is now asking to save changes when no changes have been made

Normally we save the AI then Export to svg then close  AI. Now when closing AI it asks to save unsaved changes even though there aren't any changes as all we have done since we last saved it is to Export it. This message is misleading because before it was a good reminder that we had not have saved what we had changed before we did the Export, but now it's totally misleading as it does it even when we did save it just before the Export. Is anyone else finding this new warning misleading?

Hello @Richard24318057sdae,

That does seem strange. Could you please confirm the version of the OS/Illustrator installed, and if this issue occurs when working on a specific file or files stored in a particular folder location? Additionally, could you provide a small screen recording of the problem, so I can check this with the team?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Abubhav

Occurs with all our AI files, which are stored in a shared drive on Box. When pressing the X to exit Illustrator after saving and Exporting to svg it wants to save again, it's as though it's counting the Export as a change to the AI file itself?

Which is annoying as it's making us stop and think 'did we actually save before we exported?' which of course we did....
