Question

Adobe Illustrator not packaging after Upgrading to macOS Tahoe

We get the error and illustrator still "packages". But every time is different - sometimes the folder will have all links, sometimes it will only have one link. It is not consistent and it never saves the illustrator file into the folder. I can package the same file over and over and every time is different. This is not just my computer, it's all designers I work with having the same problem.
* I have tried working from our server and also working off my desktop.
* OS and Adobe updates are current.
* Not using a Wacom (this was the only conversation I found related to illustrator / Tahoe issues.
Our IT team has tried going through the process with adobe, but no one can figure out why this is happening. I was hoping someone in this community would have a fix. Thanks

Are there any updates regarding this issue? After upgrading to macOS 26, our designers are reporting that they are experiencing the same problem as well.

We cannot switch to AFP because all of our file servers are Windows servers, so SMB is required.

Hello @VectorWizard

I’m sorry to hear you’re having similar trouble with Illustrator. Could you try the suggestions shared in this help article (https://support.apple.com/en-us/101442) and let us know if they help?

Looking forward to your response.

Hi @Anubhav M

we tried it. Disableing signing did not really make a difference.

Best,

Hi @patti_6056,

Thanks for sharing all the details. I tested the same packaging workflow on my side in macOS Tahoe and Illustrator packaged fine every time, so this looks like something specific to your setup. Could you try running Illustrator in macOS Safe Mode and then test packaging again? Safe Mode disables third party apps and background processes, which helps isolate if another software or utility on the machine is interfering. Reference: https://adobe.ly/4nP70On

Please give this a try and let me know how it goes.

Looking forward to your update.

Thank you so much for your response!
We've tried safe mode on a couple of the designer's computers, and it still doesn't work. We have 2 tickets with Adobe already and have gone through the steps and it seems to be a mystery to Adobe.
I just don't understand why everything worked fine with Apple OS Sequoia on Monday, and when my Mac forced me to update earlier this week, it stopped working.
Other than wiping hard drives and reinstalling Sequoia, do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks again!

Hello @patti_6056,

Could you try re-adding the permissions for Full Disk Access for Illustrator (https://adobe.ly/4gJf5St) and then relaunching the app to see if it helps?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Additionally, we have tried to:
- Uninstalled illustrator
- Run adobe clean up
- Checked, and issues are not with the links.
- Adobe reps have logged in twice and tried a few things… the last guy said they would have to create a "Patch” for this, but can’t give a date.

That's why I'm hoping someone here can advise. 🙂

And then, I guess the next thing will be to wipe our computers and manually install the last OS version so we can use illustrator for our best needs.
