Adobe Illustrator package

When I package files in Adobe Illustrator 2020 it doesn't package the links...just the fonts

I have the package links box checked

They are also embedded links

    Embedding can happen in 3 places: when you import files and don't check "Linked"

    When you embed them deliberately via the Links panel

    When you save the AI and check "Include linked images" - this actually embeds them.

    When you embedded all images, then there won't be linked files and thus nothing gets packaged.

    THANKS...I was wondering about that
    I usually embed my images but the most recent
    file automatically embedded the images and
    I couldn't figure out how why
