Adobe Illustrator will not save/save as/open/create new

Hello,

I downloaded adobe illustrator on my new laptop today, and I've been working on a project for a couple of hours now.... some of the things under the "file" tab are not working. I cannot file > save/save as/open/new.

Everytime I try to do any of the listed, nothing happens at all and adobe stays the way it was before I clicked it. This is furstrating because I've been working on a project for a couple of hours and I do not want to lose it, but I cannot save it.

Can I get some help?

Thank you!

I am having the same issue. I have a printer attached with the latest printer driver. I am using Adobe Illustrator 28.5 on a Mac Sonoma 14.5. I am having the same issue with Photoshop as well.

And the printer is set up as the default printer?

And turned on?

Yes. The printer is on and setup as the default. It has the latest driver. I am able to print with no problem, I just can't save.

I will say it is intermitent. I can come back the next day and be able to save, but then an hour or so later, I am unable to save.

I am also having issues opening documents. I am able to drag them from the finder to the Illustrator App in my dock to get them to open, but not any other way.

Hello @pınar32458843s8hz,

We are sorry to hear about this experience. Would you mind trying the following steps and checking if they help:
- Close all Adobe applications.
- Navigate to the following directory:
(Windows) C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\UXP
(macOS) Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/UXP

- Rename the UXP folder to UXP.old
-Relaunch Illustrator

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav

Do you have a printer attached, printer driver up todate, printer turned on and set up as the default printer?

If not, please try and set up a PDF printer.
