AI CC 2019 multiple problems - MacOS 10.13.3

1.  Type tool - Where is the Horizontal Type Tool?

2. Open documents in tabs - When clicking on file tab, it will not become 'active' and I have to drag it out of the window in order to see it.

3. Tool Sidebar - The tools jump around and think that they need to outsmart me.  I'd like them to just stay in place, thanks.  It makes for a hot key mess.  Is there any way to 'lock' the tools in place?  I am using my own saved workspace, but it does not apply anymore.

Thanks Vee.

Hi Monika, thanks for your help.  Illustrator CC 2019 has  Window > Toolbars > then there is Advanced and Basic.  This helped because I can go back to Basic and then add the other tools that I use often.

Sorry - should have said "not hidden by rotate'. The reflect disappears, or is probably replaced by a tool at illustrator thinks I want to use (which I don't).

At the moment the behaviour cannot be changed. Please add your vote here: AI 2019 - Tool Pallet Issues - tool are continually moving around – Adobe Illustrator Feedback

This doesn't help at all. I'm constantly having to reset to the advanced. A few minutes of working and many of the tools have disappeared. Particularly the most important, the Selection tool (black arrow). Why is this disappearing? I don't don't want to use the Group selection tool as it doesn't work the same. Plus after a few minutes of working, the reflect tool disappears and is hidden by rotate. You should be able to lock the tools. This dynamic tool option is just not working, I'm constantly resetting throughout my day. This is a real bad decision.

You can configure the tool panel. Set it to Window > Tools > Extended (or the like) to get the complete set.

Unfortunately when you click and move the mouse too fast on a tool, it's possible that it moves elsewhere.
