AI document w/ color fonts – how to export?

Hi there!

Testing around with SVG color fonts in Illustrator, I found it pretty difficult to export my work to use it with InDesign or Photoshop. The glyphs’ »color information« gets lost, no matter what I tried, so that I end up with black letters instead of colored ones.

Any special catch to exporting docs with color fonts?

Thanks,

Klaus

With Illustrator and InDesign CC2018 you can export an AI with PDF compatibility and then place that in InDesign.

From there I could even export a PDF/X-1 that has the colored text in it.

I re-did some testing, using several color fonts now (instead of a single one before). Guess what – it turned out that that one font is the problem, its letters become black by exporting ... The other fonts work fine :-)

So it seems that the font foundries still may have some issues with that new font format :-(

May I ask which one was causing the trouble?
