Ai Glitch - Objects randomly duplicating with any touch of keypad & cannot be deleted

Hi there, 

 

I googled this issue and found the member "GAMBOT" having a similar experience with objects randomly duplicating themselves. I followed the suggested solution of resetting Ai preferences, restarting Ai and even rebooting computer. This has not fixed the problem. 

 

When I press ANY key (e.g. Z to zoom in and out to view my work) or click of the mouse, objects and even texts randomly duplicate themselves and are unable to be deleted. Unless, I manually select the object(s) and Edit > Clear. But the objects or texts still manage to repeat the process of duplicating themselves and are unable to be deleted. Any suggestions? Is this a hardware issue with my computer? A software update needed for Mac? A new keyboard?

    On a Mac: if you have a window manager such as Rectangle or Magnet, turn it off. The software DisplayPilot also does weird things. If it still doesn't help, boot into Safe Mode and check if it is still happening. That is a test. If something doesn't happen in Safe Mode, then something on your individual system is interfering and you have to find it.

      Sometimes objects can be deleted but to re-appear within seconds. And even multiple hits of the DELETE key doesn't work.
