Can anyone guide me on to make sure the spacing is the exact same from the left of the inner circle to the first letter for each word?

Assuming you may want to hold together your text in one or several type objects (instead of using single type objects per word), this is what you can do with circular Area Type objects with some Inset Spacing.

It may require a bit of fine-tuning, but it's already pretty suitable without having to do so.

default3,

I believe you will be happier if you work with the distance from the circle (perpenducular to it) of the nearest part of the first letter, rather than the horizontal distance from the circle to the leftmost part or some average.

In the former case, you can select the circle and use Object>Path>Offset with a negative offset equalling the desired distance and start from that.

In the latter case, if you must, you can select the circle and move a copy to the right by the desired and start from that.

Either way you will quite likely need to adjust each line for best appearance, because what looks rigth is right, to express it in a way slightly different to the one Monika used.

It'S best to eyeball it, because each letter shape needs a slightly different approach.
