Alternate CT image trapping plugin (Not Esko Power Trapper)??

I am curious if anyone knows of a good solution or plugin for Illustrator that will trap CT images to vector backgrounds?

We currently use Esko's Power Trapper, but the service is very expensive. Looking for alternatives, but I can't find any.

Illustrator has a vector trap under Pathfinder menu, but that doesn't trap images.

Adobe has improved itself at many points, added nice features to its programs, but unfortunately it is still very deficient in these issues and has not taken a step, I hope they will think about this issue now. I have been waiting for years for them to produce a solution for this.
