An Unknown error has occurred (25,700)

Illustrator has suddenly started crashing with the above error message. Version 26.0.1 running on Windows 11.

I've seen some previous threads that suggest selecting PDF printer but I dont have PDF printer available to select.

Can anyone help?

When does it crash? -> what are you doing when it crashes?

it crashes on startup.

That wouldn't be a case where assigning a printer typically helps.

Do you have any third party plugins?

Maybe the preferences are toast.

You could reset the preferences by renaming the preferences folder (which can be reverted)
