Anchor points problem using the Pen

Hello!

I have a question regarding the anchor points whenever drawing with the pen tool. I am very new in using the Illustrator, right now I am outlining floorplans for some architecture purposes. So as I try to outline and go trough the room corners, when I hit an anchor point my pen tool disappear. I've tried making new layer and draw on it, but the anchor points doesn't show up and the outlining is not precise enough.I am placing the plans from PDF files.

Hope you have a solution.

Thank you in advance!

Regards,

Hris

Could you post a screen shot showing what exactly is happening?

Hi Bill,

Yes, of course.

On the first image I just started drawing from the corner of the room so I am trying to draw from that anchor point to the next anchor which is the one marked below it. But whenever I hit the second one it marks the wall's vector and the pen tool disappears.

Hope you managed to get my point (sorry for the bad explanations).

Hris,

Are you using View>Smart Guides?

They should show when you are within snapping distance (saying anchor when it is an Anchor Point and similarly (intersect for intersection paths, path for (following or coming across) paths, etc)).

Hey Jacob,

Yes, I am using them.
