Another Illustrator & High Sierra 10.13.6 performance issue

Hi all. I'm having real trouble running Adboe Illustrator on my 27" iMac (late 2013) running High Sierra 10.13.6.

Performance is dire, and so slow it's unworkable. When I try and quit the app, it freezes and is unresponsive.
It's useless. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've turned off GPU, and reset Prefs. No good.

As a paying user, I'd really expect it to work!

    Try and turn off the dictation feature in the OS.

    If that does not work: the microphone.

    If that does not work, contact support.
