I’m sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind confirming whether the fonts you’re having trouble with were acquired from Adobe Fonts or a third party?

Also, try installing the Arabic/Hebrew version of Illustrator (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/access-install-hebrew-arabic-indesign-illustrator-CC.html) and share your observations.
