Any way to disable the template function on new documents

I really freaking hate the template document window that opens every time I want to create a new document. I just want to type my dimensions and etc without the clutter of preloaded crap I didn't invent nor want to touch. PLEASE tell me there's a setting where I can revert back to the pre-template New Document window?? It's one of the must obnoxious workflow blocks I've seen in the past year with this program.
