Apple Pencil and finger not working on Ai iPad

I have recently downloaded the illustrator app for iPad and have been using it for the last few days without any issues. Today I try and use it and I can only select tools and options but can't use them. Neither the Apple Pencil or finger is working, other apps they work fine. I have updated iOS and reinstalled the Ai app and it has made no difference.
