Art turns into wire frame

Might be a small error, beginner question, but somehow  my art has turned into wireframe art abruptly without warning.

ive tried changing it back, , though illustrator did not allow me to change fill of shapes in and so the lines seem to be stuck in this weird state that cant be altered.

is there a way to reverse the effect?

The object here is selected, and the outline and fill are shown, but there is no color on the artboard.
