Artboards

I'm using Illustrator 2025, duplicating a few artboards, saving them, and trying to place them into Indesign; I can't use them. I don't see them, and when I open the Illustrator file to see why I can't see them, all the previous artboards are gone for some reason. I duplicated the artboards in Illustrator again, saved the file, and opened them again, but I still lost them. What is wrong with Illustrator 2025?

When this appears when saving, then you are saving to a legacy file version. THis must be pre CS3, because it deletes additional artboards. Do "Save as" and save to the latest version.
