Asterisk next to Font Family?

There is an asterisk next to the font family (where I can select the font) in AI CS5 (Mac). What does that mean? I've looked and this font is installed.

It means it's not the font originally used and is being substituted for the original font.

Thanks. It's surprising, because I used Ubuntu (downloaded for Google web fonts) on my mac book and my desktop too. Booth should be the same.

Anyway I replaced all fonts and after restarting AI the * has gone. Thanks for your help!
