Question

Attributes Panel for creating URL/web links is not working properly.

I will try to keep this as simple as possible.

I have a PDF that I want to link to a website.

I create an object/shape on the PDF. I define the URL via the "Attributes" panel.

Let's say I use "http://www.google.com"
I export the PDF and check off "preserve hyperlinks."

When I open the PDf and click on the link, it instead tries to visit

"C://User/Name/Desktop/google.com"

No matter what I do. Changing the shape, polygon or rectangle, it does NOT work.

Anyone have any experience iwth this one?

Works fine for me on Mac and Windows 10.

In what application do you open the .pdf file?

Can you share a sample .pdf?

I just copied your link and used it like this:

And it works fine for me. But I am using a Mac, that might make a difference. Hope another Windows user can check it.

Since it's usually asked
Adobe Illustrator Version 30
Windows 10 PC

I've also tried on separate laptop, Windows 11.

And I've tried restarting, clearing browser caches, the issue perists.
