Automatic bulleted list flaw

If this option is enabled in preferences,

A. Williams is automatically converted to a bulleted list.  It had me really scratching my head the first time I saw it. I was doing text on a path and it converted my text on a path into a bulleted list.  Eventually I noticed the bulleted list icon in the toolbar, but of course, if I unchecked that box, it removed "A." and left SOMETHING.  Of course, if you disable the automatic preference, its works fine.

That looks like a bug. You can report it here:

Of course the workaround would be to have A. Williams change his/her name to something like B. Williams 🙂

This also happens when you type # or * at the start of the paragraph. I get what they were trying to do, but it still feels like a bug to me.

I don't think it ois a bug. It's how this is supposed to work, but things like names were just not considered.
