Automating Text Input in a Template

I have a multi-layer jig template that has text identifying each layer. I am wondering if there is a script/command/hot key/???/tip/Doh! functionality that will save me from having to manually enter the text. A screen shot of the template is below. For a 10 layered piece I have to enter the information for 20 pieces of text manually. TIA.
