Background color won't export

The simulated paper colour is just that, a way to see how the artwork will look on coloured paper.

It forms no part of the artwork.

If you wish to have a colour in the background as part of the actual artwork, you will have to create a path (rectangle or whatever) and fill it with the desired colour.
