Question

Background still visible when using photoshop to remove background

When I use photoshop to remove the background from an image and then pull that image into illustrator file, it appears the background is totally removed, but when I save the file as a PDF, I am still seeing a "ghost" of the old background. Any advice on how to get rid of that?

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with the background issue. Have you tried the suggestions from Ton and Bill yet?

If those don't help, you could also try flattening the image or exporting the PSD file as a transparent PNG and then importing it in Illustrator.

If the issue persists, please feel free to share your Illustrator file with us, and we'll check it out on our end.

Best regards,

What happens if you set the standard for the pdf to PDF/X-4 2010 in the Save Adobe PDF dialog that appears during the "Save As" process? Also make sure that you use the High Quality preset.

If you create a larger image file in Photoshop and fill it with black.

Copy paste your image into that file, does it look clean?
