Best Crop or Cutting Tools?

I'm looking for a replacement for the Cut Tool in the old Kimbo plug-in, which is no longer supported by the current versions of Illustrator. This  Cut Tool sliced cleanly through multiple vector lines and shapes on various layers without causing any unexpected changes. A good crop tool might do something similar. Suggestions?
